CheekpieceThe Pelham has attachments for two reins, one near the mouthpiece and one at the end of the shank. Some riders, may prefer to use rein connectors. The Pelham shank will exert moderate poll pressure and leverage on the mouthpiece and curb.The cheekpiece is available in 2 sizes, standard and a slightly smaller model for a pony. The standard size Pelham has 2 length shanks. The longer shank allows for more hand movement and slows the leveraging of the pressure points.MouthpieceThe Colin Miles is a great schooling bit with a wide center piece creating greater tongue pressure and reducing bar pressure. The rings give the horse something to play with and help keep the horses attention on the bit.
